Botanical Name Melaleuca alternifolia

General Description Native Australians have long known the therapeutic properties of Tea Tree. The herb, tea, and extract were used to treat many afflictions. It is a small shrub, with needle thin leaves. The essential oil is obtained from trees grown in plantations.



Uses Massage, bath, skin care, hair care, compress, inhalation. Used in soaps, toothpastes, deodorants, disinfectants, germicides, and increasingly in aftershaves and spicy colognes.

Odour Description Tea Tree has a warm, fresh, spicy-camphoraceous odour. It Blends well with Lavandin, Lavender, Clary Sage, Rosemary, Pine, Cananga, Geranium, Marjoram and spice oils, especially Clove and Nutmeg.
